The exhibition illustrates the main movements in American art since the end of World War II, from abstract Expressionism to Pop Art, from Minimalism to post-Minimalism, from conceptual art to photorealism. The paintings, sculptures, photographs and installations in this event represent key moments in the history of American art, from the 1940s to the 1970s. Works of art from the global art network of Guggenheim and in particular the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum of New York, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection of Venice and the Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao.
